Dance

Rylee and Kodi did their dance recital this weekend. They had four solid days of practicing, getting dressed up and preforming for people. They did awesome! Last night's performance, Kodi had her finger in her nose the WHOLE time. The whole audience was laughing so hard. She still danced, just with one hand doing the dance actions and the other occupied with her nose. The girls loved getting all dolled up with make up, hair stuff and their costumes.

Vernal..

Last week Owen had to work in Vernal, Utah for the whole week. We decided it would be a nice break to go spend some time together. We got there on Monday and dropped Rylee, BO and Kodi off with Grandma Sheila on Wednesday and Tylar on Friday. It was definitely quiet and relaxing once the kids were gone. I have to say, life gets really boring once your used to going, going, going with kids, home and all the busy life stuff and then having all that stop for a few days. Not quite sure which I prefer...
Tuesday we took the kids to the really nice dinosaur museum there. The kids loved looking at all the bones and statues. They asked lots of questions and came up with their own reasons why the dino's aren't here anymore... They were interesting conclusions!

One Thursday since we only had Tylar, we went driving around Vernal to see what Vernal had to offer. We found an hill side with all these Indian drawing all over. They were really fun to look at.

Then we went up to the reservoir and looked around... Owen didn't want his picture taken here for some odd reason, little stinker! (;

Montisello trip and more...

We headed to Monticello to visit our friends Crystal and Ben. They just started a really cute bed and breakfast there (Gristmill inn). We went to Monticello lake and fished and hung out by a camp fire. Kodi was the only one that caught a fish the whole day! She was so proud of it. She couldn't wait to cook it and eat it too!

Tylar liked sitting on the four wheeler. I half expected her to start making the engine noise that the other kids like to do when they get on it, but she just sat there content.

On our drive home we made a few stops. We drove threw "Monument Valley". That was kind of neat and really windy.

Our other stop was at the "Navajo national monument". That was a well worth trip all in it's self. We got out and hiked the little .6 mile trail to see it. It was just nice to get out and enjoy some sun and the family.

Neat right?!? (you may need to click on the right picture to see what it is.... This is a hike that Owen and I can't wait to do... You hike down into the valley below and walk around the ancient village. Cool!!! (:

My mom's wedding...

Well, my mom and Ronnie Andersen tied the knot! I'm really happy for them and I'm excited about all the new siblings that were added to our family. Ronnie has eight kids (four girls and four boys). Mom has eight kids too (six girls and two boys), So.... sixteen kids total. Ya, we know... That is one BIG family!

Pheonix (March)

In March our family went to Phoenix to hang out with Jana and Brads family while they were there for "spring training". I had never been there before (that I could remember) so we figured a quick trip would be fun. It was really warm outside with WAY to much traffic for our liking!

While we were there, we visited the zoo. It was fun and the kids really enjoyed the animals.

The zoo has an aquarium section were you can pet the rays. Kodi stuck her hand into the water and one of the rays ate her hand/arm. Owen pulled her up and it was still stuck to her! lol She was really excited and kind of freaked out to tell me all about it (I was looking at another fish at the time.).

We got to feed the giraffes... The kids all got a big kick out of doing that as well. I think it was one of the big highlights of the zoo.


This baby zebra that is laying down was only two weeks old.
