Weekend in Beaver

This past weekend, we went camping and four wheeling with my sister Jana's family and my other little sister Erika along with my brother in law Bridger. Jana and Brad invited us to join them at their families cabin for a fun weekend get-a-way. It was so fun and relaxing. Anyway, here are a few pics from the adventure.

The kids new toy.

The kids just got this race track with cars from a friend of ours and the kids love racing each other and seeing who can get their car to FLY off the tracks the fastest. We have never seen BO get so excited with anything as much as he has been about this thing.

quick trip

On Friday morning, I along with all the kids took a quick trip to Utah to get a 1/2 a cow from my in-laws. By-the-way, thanks again Jeff and Sheila, we are sooooo grateful for all of it! We had lots of fun visiting and letting the kids mess around with one another. We headed home on Saturday afternoon with some quick stop visits to see my Dad and two sisters Elicia (and her kids) and Sierra and than we stopped at Grandma Dansie's for another quick hello. Anyway, it was a good trip!

Outside Slumber Party

Last night, we all slept outside on our trampoline. The kids thought it was so cool and loved watching the shooting stars. The moon was a little bright and kept waking me up, but it sure was beautiful! Kodi ended up going to bed in her own room, since she was a little wild and wouldn't calm down. Bo got cold half way during the night and climbed in the blanket with me. I got squished and couldn't go back to sleep, so I went inside and slept on my bed and soon Owen joined me. I think once you start getting older, your own bed is much more appealing then the trampoline. Rylee and BO stayed out all night with the dogs watching over them.
Duke fell asleep on Rylee and she kept saying that his breath stunk and that he was squishing her, but that it was "alright mom, he can stay".

August goings on...

I posted a few days ago and said that I was sitting the kids down for some structure time. Well, I decided that I am going to home school them for Preschool (since it is so blasted expensive here where we live.).
I decided every week we are going to learn two letters, two colors and hopefully throw in some shapes, textures, senses, and random things like that. So Far, Rylee and BO are both doing really well in it. Bo doesn't really like practicing the letters, but Rylee does and is doing really well. They both remember what I have taught them and correct me when I mess up! I just ordered lots of helping tools and homeschooling supplies and I get free downloads online from a really cool teacher help site to help me out. Who knows, maybe I'll learn some well needed patience! (;

I also signed BO and Rylee up for soccer this September with the city. I hope they like it!

Boating at Lake Powell

With us living so close to Lake Powell, you'd think we've been on the lake more then just this once! Well, this is our first time actually on the lake, we have gone to the beach a few times, just not on it!

Our new friends Kelly and Jared took us with their family out on the Lake with their boat. I was pretty impressed with how amazing my husband is on a wake board. The whole 9 years I've known him and 5 of which we've been married, I had NO idea that he could do all that he did on that lake, he's full of surprises!

We had so much convincing to do with BO to even get him in the raft and then Owen flips it over while trying to get both he and BO in, both BO and Owen went in the water. BO was so scared the whole time, we couldn't go very fast. I was even surprised he waved! (:

Kids paint activity

One of our craft activities involved painting. This is really getting fun! The kids are getting really creative and enjoying every minute of what I have planned for them. They have been coloring, painting and drawing things. Kodi even gets to do some coloring when her nap time is all over. She loves showing me the slightest mark on her paper just to here my overly exaggerated, "WOW, that is awesome Kodi... Good job!!!". She is such a funny girl!
Rylee has to display all her art work on the front of the fridge and tells BO that there isn't room for his, which he's alright with since he hauls it all over the house with himself! Rylee also re-arranges all her work at least twice a day depending on how often she goes in the kitchen.
